Flashing Emission Lamp and Error Code ---h

  Titanium Clio 182
Just got back from driving home, was on the M1 doing about 90mph then the emissions light started to flash. Thought nothing of it, as the car was still accelerating and decelerating. But I had to slow down to 60 due to the fog, when I tried to accelerate it was very jumpy, as if I was doing 30 in 5th gear, you know when your in the wrong gear.

Anyway carried on driving then the lamp stopped flashing and didn't come back up, the acceleration was normal again. It then came on again about 30min later (It was flashing the first time for about 10 min) done eaxactly the same, sluggish and felt like I was in the wrong gear when accelerating, with very poor acceleration.

I got home and stopped the car, the idling was poor and juddering about. I turned off the engine, kept the stalk button pressed in when turning the power back on, went to the error code on the display and it was showing ---h.

I have just had a sensor replaced by Ren-Tech as the car was over fuelling.

mine has done the same recently, is urs standard? i was thinking a loose sensor but im pretty clueless lol

Yeah its standard, I've done nothing to the engine at all. The ---h has gone now after I reset it and I've just drove about for 10 min and its ---- still so I don't know if the ---h was sporadic. The flashing emissions light still happens, and the engine sounds bubbly with not a lot of power at all.

mines pretty modified including decat and k tech stealth so my emmissions light is on. I get it every now and then havent had a chance t sort it yet. but sometimes when i turn the ignition off and restart it stops. Definate drop in power when its happening tho like its only firing off 3 or even 2 cylinders

Was a nightmare on the motorway last night, was taking ages to get up to speed. But one past 90mph it didn't feel juddery.

I was driving from Portsmouth to Middlesbrough. Had an hour left lol, didn't want to break down, like I said, it cleared for about 30 min then it re-appeared and has been there ever since!!!

A year ago I drove over some debri on the motorway and it unclipped some connection (breaking it) under the car and the emissions light cam on then but the power was fine, I plugged it back together and it went away. I'm wondering if water has gotten into the connection and is causing this? Hmm i'll have to have a look.

nah disconected it and it stay on instead of flashing, revved it up and it was bubbly/juddering. Connected it back up and everything was the same except for the emissions light flashing.

Will it knack the engine if I continue to drive it like this?

ok mate well keep looking at this thread (if you can) and i'll try to get my car fixed so you know what the problem might be.

Just changed the coil pack and its still got the same problem. One of the ht cables that I removed didn't effect the endine at all, but the other three that I removed the enigine was worse. So i'm thinking its that HT lead or Spark Plug.

Faulty pre cat lambda at a guess, that's the one that controls fuelling etc.

Is there anyway I can check it? Make sure its not loose or the connections are dirty??

It was a little intermittent today for about 10 minutes, car suddenly started to work then it went shitty again.

The only practical way to check it is to swap it for the post cat sensor, they're both identical but the pre cat one is the only one that controls anything.
Second sensor is purely for emissions.

Is it easy to do, where are they?

Think I might just leave them, as i don't know where abouts they are. But if its really easy and you can tell me then i'll be happy to have a quick go.

The problem was a Fuel Injector which has now been changed, all together cost £170 from Rentech.
