this makes me do sex wee, ive been in NZ for a month now and everytime i come online i look at throttle bodies and prices and what i can do to make the clio faster when i get back but refuse to pay 6 grand for a tubby and even a massive amount to let someone else fit TB's for me. how easy would an installation like this be to some with a fair amount of common sense and bit of engine knowledge.
also, all the 210-230 bhp figures, these are at the engine yes? so what would be at the wheels roughly?
well i know of only 1 (yes ONE) uk renault tuner that has dyno'd an F4R with throttle bodies (it had cams and pistons too) and made 225bhp at the crank
Moteur huger in france have dyno'd an F4R with just bodies and made 205bhp
yea, at the end of the day i just want a quicker PH1 so figures mean nothing compared to actually how it drives. if it ups the bhp but not much for the torque it'd be a bummer but i suspect thats the case.
its so tempting to have a go myself but am nervous of undertaking something like this and getting stuck mid-way through. i proberly wouldnt bother with cams and certainly wouldnt bother with the internals (slate me if you will lol)
i think when i get back to the UK in Feb i'll be on the phone to the usual companies but need to get in the spirit of it all now ha.
ECU wise, is this something that is fairly easily wired then set up afterwards by someone with know how??
buy all the hardware, bolt it all on (easy enough if you're mechanically experienced) and then tow it to someone like http://www.torqueofthedevil.com/flash.asp and pay them to supply and fit the ecu/loom
