RenaultSport Clio 172 mk2
Recently changed my rear pads as one of them had some how knackered!! A chunk had been taken out one of the passenger side pads, which was strange, but changed them anyway thinking that was why my brakes were poor! Whilst changing the rears I also realised that (1 of the 4) of my front pads has worn a lot thinner that the rest and is now almost down to the metal!
Looking to change them ASAP and was wondering if anyway knew what was the acceptable thickness of the front discs were so I can gauge if they need changing too. The front passenger disc has a slight lip to it (probably 2mm at most) and the drivers side isn't as bad (probably 1-2mm).
Do I need to change the discs too? The car has only done 27k and the brakes seem to feel poor. I don’t drive the car particularly hard and I don't believe the chap before me did either. Is it probably due to the one pad thickness being very thin as effectively only 3 pads are in operation? Or are my discs knackered?
Sorry if this seems like an essay or is confusing!
