front shocks

  BMW M135i & E46 M3
Is it ok to replace my front shocks with uprated gmax shocks as mine have gone!! but then replace the springs for lower ones at a later date?
would i need to change the rear shocks at all?
cheers

All four shocks should be changed if your gonna, I dont see why you couldn't stick the standard back springs on for a bit but for the price of springs it would probably be worth waiting a little longer and do it all at once.
my front shocks are fudged and Im still driving on em...

you would have to make sure the shocks arent shorter?? as lowering kit shocks are sometimes shorter than original!

Gmax are shorter, if you put standard springs on them they will need to be compressed more creating a bouncy front end

Yeah best to wait, I mean a set of springs is no more than £100 so may as well wait till you got both, also it will be twice the work taking them off and putting em back on again.
like I said Im driving on my screwed shocks for a bit until I get coilovers.

ok cheers for your help everyone!
its just i have resently got new alloys and after gettin them balanced i noticed the car feeling really light and sometimes over responsive and other times not! i even nearly spun the car wen it started to bounce when i steered ever so slightly at speed!! (dont know why this is) took it back to the gargage that done the balancing and they said the front shocks were gone and also added i needed to replace the brakes!!
