FTP help

Ive set up a ftp with xp with the IIS. I can get onto the FTP on my LAN but when my mate tries it over the net it doesnt. Is there anything he has to do to access it?

does it try and logg in and say user not allowed if it does he needs some access rights.

if he carnt see it , have u got a redirect on that port (21 prolly) to goto your pc

most likely a firewall issue.
