I think it is. Ive not had any problems but my mate has. His key wouldnt go in all the way and then when he did get it in, he couldnt turn it.
I think its just the cold

  Better than yours. C*nt.
Bike was frozen. Was at a rubber place, just got some AIO sprayed in the slit and I could go straight in!

Mine was well and truly frozen up a couple weeks back. Poured some hot water out of the kettle onto the cap/into the key hole, this did the trick. I then sprayed WD40 into the key hole.

Worth checking at home before you fill up to save embarrasment at the petrol station!!

thought i'd snapped the filler flap off a couple of weeks ago; was frozen shut and wouldn't return flush with the body once i'd opened it (OK once thawed). a lot of the plastics on these are crappy anyway, but they're more brittle in the cold (snapped an arch liner the other day, which 'might' not have happened in higher temps)

spray something like white grease into the cap lock; should prevent it from freezing. WD's too thin to provide lasting protection

Had the exact same problem earlier today. It was the hinge side that was sticking out but all sorted now.

Had it happen a few times to me during the latest cold snap. Feel a right tit trying to get your filler cap off when there's loads of car waiting behind you waiting to fill up lol.

Mine froze up solid on monday. Had to squirt a load of de-icer into the keyhole and work the key back and forth until it freed off. Mind you, my door was frozen shut last night too, lol

  Looking for 182
I had this recently as well and I was almost completely screwed. I managed to get the key in halfway though and turn it enough to take it out.

Mine was the same the other day when I pulled up for fuel, Had cars waiting behind me so i just sprayed a load of de-icer into it and hammered the key in with my fist :p

I'm used to this now - lol. Basically I check the petrol level when I start the car in the morning. If it needs refilling that day, I blast the petrol cap lock with some de-icer. By midday, it's freed-up and comes off quite easily.
