Sure its under the left rear passenger side (possibly the right). I replaced mine on a 60k service, well the garage did. You need to use something to stem the flow of fuel from each pipe when removing it.

Looks like a bean tin with a pipe running into and out of each end.

To be fair I doubt thats causing irratic idle. Possibly.

As you look at the fron of the car its on the left (drivers side), just infront of the fuel tank. Someone said that you dont need to clamp the hoses, but i cant see that. Fairly easy to change, undo the clips on the hoses take it out and put the new one in, make sure you get it the right way around, there will be an arrow on the old and new one which must face in the direction of the flow of fuel

dont need to clamp it up really. youll only get whats in the pipe at the time flowing out for a couple of seconds.

its on the o/s in front of the fuel tank.easy to change.fuel will only come out of the pipes for a couple of seconds so you dont need to clamp them off.watch your eyes when you first remove the pipes as there may be pressure still in there.

yeah, if youre a tw*t like me you get petrol in your eyes and it stings like fook!!lol

I would check your electrical system aswell, HT leads and spark plugs. To get to the filter you will need to take the rear seats out, or lift them up, if i am thinking of the right thing. If I am its covered with a ruber seel. If I was use you I would clamp the pipes near where they join upto "the device" just incase. Even if there is only a small bit of fuel in there or if its only under a bit of pressure its not going to kill you to be carefull. After all, if it pisses out everywhere it will stink for ages.

you only need to lift up the back seats to get to the tank level sender unit.the fuel filter is underneath the car.
