Full suspension refresh advice

  Clio 172 cup + 325ci
Im looking at refreshing the suspension on the Cup soon guys.Just wondering apart from bushings what else would be advised to replace to get her back to the way it should be.

The car has 87k on it and i presume most of the original parts are still on it from new..

Im getting coilovers so that will be the worn shocks replaced..What else should i spend my hard earned cash on?

wishbones/ball joints, inner rods, rod ends, top mounts, steering rack bushes, inner/outer ARB bushes?

I'd double check they actually need replacing before splashing out though

As Klem said, will drive like new then and surprise you with just how good these cars are, most people driving them havent a clue how sharp the handling is meant to be.

When you do wishbones make sure you buy cup ones, they ARE different.

And dont buy the very cheap coilovers, if you are going to be on a budget for it then just fit new cup shocks and some eibachs.

Coilovers are only worth doing if you go for a half decent brand, doesnt need to be 2K of ast, but at least should be H&R / Gaz gold / Spax / Bilistein, ie the sort of middle ground of the road coilovers market.

  225 Cup & Williams
New cup shocks along with Eibach sportline springs and replace what's been mentioned already above and you will be amazed at how different they are to drive down a good B road.

^ lol at this.

that will be effectively what mine will have done... including Cooksport springs!

just need to fit them when I get a free weekend :D

When I said best, I meant best price for O.E. parts, I'm guessing Renault don't always come up cheapest...

Don't think they are that expensive for the wishbones. They come with ball joints if you buy them from Renault so no need to buy them separate.

  Ph2 172 Track Toy
I've been pricing up this. I need a full refresh before my next trackday. Already have springs and dampers so need a bit less

Coming in at around 420 quid if I use cheaper track rods from euro car parts, have OE wishbones and steering bushes and solid topmounts. That's just parts BTW.

Yeah sounds about right for what we spent doing my mrs one although we used new genuine top mounts as its a road car.

Cheers for the replies guys..Im thinking of getting coilovers too as i want the car sitting nice and low but not silly on the floor low..Just think the sportline springs drop isnt great looking..Il be going for a decent brand. Was loking at H&Rs.Heard good things about them

  182 FF, A6 Avant
Can you share the part numbers and prices for everything? I'm about to do the same on my car. Just got myself some 172 cup wishbones instead to see if they will fit.

  182/RS2/ Turbo/Mk1
I believe the 182 cup are the same as 172 cup from what I have read on here, but unlike the ph1/ph1/ph2-cup I dont have personal experience of them to say that from, im just repeating what I have seen on here, but that might be invalid advice in the first place of course.

If you take a picture of the old one, it should be obvious at a glance.
