fully comp or 3rd party fire & theft

  Not a Clio

whats the main difference between the two?

on fully comp at the moment but wondering if i really need it.

In my recent experience Fully Comp rules if you can afford it. Correct me if Im wrong but in basic terms Fully Comp means if you stack your car and its your fault, you still get paid out, whereas TPFT would mean you have to pay the repairs yourself if its your fault.

You dont usually get windscreen cover with TPFT also.

If your only 3rd party and you hit a lampost/bus stop, you have to pay for the lampost/bus stop I believe, could be pricey.

It also means they pay out straight away (minus excess) then take on the other insurance company on your behalf to get the money back including the excess which you will get once theyve recovered it!

Wouldnt have anything other than fully comp from past experience.

the price diff is minimal nowdays

sometimes its even cheaper

stay with fully comp,

i wrote my clio mark 1 off, spent 000s on it, and lost the lot.

i think there was about a difference of a couple of hundred punds a year.

definitely stick with the extra fully comp.

If your car is worth less than a grand and you are driving it into the ground go TPFT. If you have a car thats worth more or one that you are proud of get FC. Its always a little bit more but the extra cover gives you peace of mind. If you in an own fault accident with an expensive motor you will be glad you went FC!
