Fuse blown - Why

  Spec C 12.5@110 (345/355)

My bros Cup has been out of action for the last couple of days. Just wouldnt start! Got a mate up today with a fault finder, it came up with a error code indicating there was a acutuater relay fault? Bosch didnt seem to know what the problem was and had never heard of it before. Anyway, he then checked the one and only 30A fuse, this had blown!

He said this was very unusual for a fuse of that size to blow. We couldnt see any problem with the loom or any of the wiring. Does anyone have any ideas of why this could of happened, or has anyone with a Cup/172 had the same problem?

Cheers

Paul

mainly a fuse blows due to a direct short circuit to earth or most likely a feed either due to a wiring problem or through a faulty component. where was the fuse and is there a picture to indicate whats its for?

No unfortunately there was no indication in the handbook or the fuse box under the bonnet! It was however the only 30A fuse in the fuse box!?

probably a fuse for the feed for the injection locking relay. have you had a look at the relays as they suffer from water ingress.
