G1 & G2

Ive been watching a vid on Gtechs main site on how to apply G1.

It says apply G1 three times. But then it says remove the residue with G2.

I can see G1 available for purchase. But why cant I find G2?

Just by g3 and layer 15 minutes after removing. No issues compared with G1.

Why would i take G3 over G1. I dont understand what youre saying Gally.

Im sick of re applying sealants on my windscreen every month because my wipers have fucked the sealant away.

Why do people use glass sealants ? FYI, red mist lasts for me, it's rare I use my wipers so that's probaly why.

Definitely the difference Kane. If you stay over here for a few weeks, you will realise why the UK is obsessed with glass sealants.

No, im not joking. Seriously, I know the whole point is to repel rain and make vision better etc, which it does, but the whole being able to sheet water off glass after a wash is very useful.

Toby, the G2 residue remover is just IPA. G1 lasts a hell of a lot longer than G3 BUT G1 is mainly used for motorway driving and G3 is for town driving. G1 is not very good under 30 mph as G3 is. Get on a motorway and they both work the same but G1 will obviously outlast the G3 in the long run.

I used the G3 last night on front and rear screens, used hardly any on application. But, on the the front screen every tiny little microscopic stonechip that I could never see has now been highlighted with the G3 and looks like mad polish splatter which I can't remove. And it's smeared, buffed it off again before leaving for work today and still not removed it completely.

I'm very dissapointed and will be looking to remove it if it doesn't excel with the next batch of rain we have

Seems strange using IPA to remove a sealant. Im not overly fussed about rain not moving at 30mph, its the whole sheeting when washing that i care about. Im sick of having to re apply product.

Im still torn between the G3 and G1 though. Seems you get a whole lot more G3 for your money.

Did you prep it properley before hand Dave? I ve had similar problems before. Preping with the G4 glass polish sorted it but i thnk it also lays some form of foundation down for your G1/G3 to go on top. Residue can only be removed with IPA but if its more or less cured then only glass polish or your normal polish will remove it.
