gaming system

  Nimbus Megane R26
I know theres quite a few fellow pc gamers on here, most more tech savvy than me when it comes to buying a new system!

I currently have a dell GTX 420 which iv had for about 5 years so its on the edge of being able to play the newer games. It will play BF3 at medium to high no problems, but ARMA2 it will only play on medium and with ARMA3 being released in Q1 2013 i feel an upgrade is needed. Nothing wrong with it other than me wanting abit of future proof.

What do people recommend as a good gaming system for circa £800? I understand buying the bits seperate and building it up will be abit cheaper but i cant be arsed with the hastle. N

need to sell my rig too so if anyone wants any info on it feel free to pm me and ill send you the specs. Id only want £230(open to close offers) for it(collection only from warrington area..im willing to meet up though) and its not long had £150 of gfx card and £70 PSU put in it so its a bargin. Q6600..4gb ram..asus 560ti 1gb card..corsair 650w psu..

It's good to see more and more PC gamers

You should take a look at Rich's thread, he's built a PC recently and there's some really good tips in there.

If you don't want the hassle of building it yourself I would highly recommend these guys - http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/computers/intel-ivy-bridge-pc/

Just select your parts until you're happy with a £800 setup. I'll have a look myself now

With them -

Intel i5-3570K 3.4Ghz
P8Z77-V LX motherboard
8GB Kingston Hyper-X RAM 1600Mhz
3GB Radeon HD 7950 Graphics card
120GB Kingston SSD
1TB HDD 7200rpm
Corsair 650w PSU
Corsair 200R gaming case

Total cost £845.

You will need Windows though, it's about £80 on their site.

Decent setup there mate but have a play around with what suits you best.

good website that mate cheers for that. I will have a play around on it tomorrow. Trouble with me is i keep goin "ahh its only another £30 may as though get the next one up" and before you know it you've put £300 ontop of the budget hah!

Good spec pc that although id swap the radeon for a geforce no doubt.

Yeah im an avid dayz/wasteland and BF3 gamer, you play any of those?

Haha I know what you mean, I had a budget of £600 and ended up spending £1000!

Why don't you like the Radeon? The equivalent GeForce model money wise is a 660Ti and the 7950 outperforms it in pretty much every way possible. Don't get me wrong I do love Nvidia as I'm sporting 570's in SLi but I do understand when AMD are better for the money :)

I play BF3 now and again but I'm mostly a CS player mate.

what he said regarding the Radeon is true. Best performing card for the money from what I've heard.

Aye here is mine...

http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?668127-Another-New-PC-Build

This is what I have

Intel I5 £172.43
Samsung DVD Drive £13.98
Gigabyte GA-Z77D3H £77.60
Antec 620W PSU (I wanted a modular one) £91.28
MSI HD 7850 £179.99 (I only paid £149 at the time)
Samsung 128GB SSD £74.99
Crucial Ballistix £45.99 I think
Seagate 2TB £49.99
Xigmatek Case £32.99
Coolermaster EVO 212 £26.49

Thats about £750 I think. (most of the bits I ordered have now gone up in price though)

Although my 2 baskets on ebuyer and overclockers were £355.74 +£ 454.02 = £809 as I had some extras like some flashy blue fans, cable ties, heat compound and a windowed sidepanel (which didn't bloody fit!) and other stuff I wanted.

Mines fairly awesome so far. Get a solid 60FPS on Fallout and Skyrim which doesn't seem bad to me.

Ahh yes, if possible Kris try to stay away from Corsair PSU's. I've heard nothing but problems with them lately. Don't get me wrong I'm sure most of them are fine but I'm yet to see any major problems with Antec ones. :)

  Evo 5 RS
lol Corsair PSUs have the most efficient rating. If not go with Antec, although through experience I wouldn't now as the last 750W I had put shrapnel in my wall.

  Nimbus Megane R26
yeah iv not heard great things lately about corsair and your not the first people to mention it. Luckily the one i have in my current system is spot on, maybe i dodged the friday afternoon one ;)

We have crysis 3 on the horizon too, which if Farcry 3 is anything to go on, will be very taxing.

I've read that an intel and Nvidia work in synergy better then say an intel and AMD. Not sure what performance difference it would offer though.
