Gatso flashed me :(

Got Flashed donig 65ish in a 50 :( Didnt know it was there untill it flashed me.

It was on the A46 Batheaston Bypass, no need to have it there. such a long and safe road, the limit should be 70 on that road

Im really pissed off because im not a silly driver but now i will have to pay £60 and get 3 points :(

Not happy.

Daz 380 miles in 4hrs driving:eek:

Thats an average of a real 95mph so your speedo must have never dropped below 100 and to average such a speed you must have been gunning it at 130 or so as we all know its not possible to travel at a constant true 95mph.

Anyway thats some going. Thats london to glasgow in 4hrs:eek:

I know mate I drive down that bit of road everyday. I have been flashed 2/3 times and I have heard nothing the last time was about a month ago. I would wait and see.

Josh, I know what u mean mate, at least in the good old days when coppers were on the road you had 1/2 a chance & they did use discresion (sp?) whereas the camara doesnt care. Use the infor on speedtrap site to fight it mate, guy at work did this and 18 months later nothing :)

worth also considering ra classic. v good value and I paid £90 for lifetime subs wereas the ra2 is 6months foc & £50 pa.

smash the thing in! lol drill a hole in the pole goin up fill with petrol n 1xflame and no 3 points or £60 fine, make a quick getaway though, juz an idea btw, it will get you off with it lol

You missed the camera on the Batheaston by-pass?! Admittedly its nothing but a cash-generator (I believe there were exactly 0 accidents when it was installed), but its so damn obvious people who get caught deserve it for having no observation skills. Its one of the most strictly controlled roads Ive ever driven on, signs all over the place.

Im no saint but anyone who gets caught so far over the limit and cant even spot a camera is asking for trouble if you ask me, no excuses, especially as the mile or so before it is one big advert for speed cameras with the amount of warning you get!

^^ Yeah thanx for that... but its not that camera, its the one at the top as if your comming from bristol (on that road just at the top of the hill) , has only just been put up again (so ive been told), and as ive been away i didnt know and its hard to see at 23:30!

now you drive down at night and tell me if you can see it...

Taken from:

This is last of the Bristol cameras and Ill think youll agree that Ive saved the best till last. This front view of the Batheaston camera shows total devastation.
Its worth noting that this road has only been open a short time and had a 50mph limit from the start. It was claimed the low speed limit was necessary because of the sharp bend on the underpass. The fact that both Gatsos were placed well away from the bend proved they were there to extract revenue. The first picture shows a sign which is 1/2 mile from the junction and the bend, therefore the Gatso is around 3/4 mile from the hazard. The second Gatso was after the bend on a long straight which is totally unjustifed and as a result it was removed a long while ago and has never been replaced, whether it was removed officially or through vandalism is unclear.

^^ If only it was like that when i went by.
