Gaz shocks

  RS 182, RS250 on order
Anyone any experience with Gaz shocks?

My standard shocks on my three year old 182 were leaking, so I replaced them with Gaz GHA366 ones, which KTR give a decent opinion on.

The results are terrible. The front wheels rub the arches, and car is unacceptably twitchy on the flat (though quite impressive around roundabouts!). I think this is more to do with the installation than the shocks themselves, the garage who fitted them seem to have dropped the car excessively, even though I asked for the maximum height this suspension kit offers.

I am considering trying to adjust them myself, but wondered of anyone had any tips, or knows of any good suspension tuning places in or near West Yorkshire.

Nothing to do with installation, Gaz are terrible. I had a set of their coilovers and tried various different settings and it always drove badly. Wouldn't even fit them to a car if i was given them FOC let alone pay for them.

OK, thanks for that! I should have asked first, I guess!

So if I write this off to experience, and get something else - what SHOULD I put on there?

Gaz get bad feedback on the RS models. But they are by no means a bad company...

I've been thinking it's strange how they've got such a bad rep on here, especially as they're held in such high esteem for other applications. I know they're used on some of the best handling kit cars as standard.

So it's just because the set they designed for the RS models are rubbish. maybe they should go back to the drawing board and design a set that work! But then I guess the damage is done because nobody would buy them now anyway. :dapprove:

Looking to change my rears and seriously looking at the adjustable rear struts from GAZ but have read the comments on here. Are the struts as bad as they are made out or is it just the coilovers that have issues ?
