GDI and BBT

  Megane Trophy
Right as im newbie to renault world i see these names mentioned hell of a lot.
BBT is up the road from me in Earls Colne
GSI - somewhere in cambridge?

Do they sell normal renaultsport parts - clutches, bearings, gaskets etc,
Do they do servicing?
Tuning things they do etc?

I understand they obv sell things like induction kits, but was wondering if they sell all the other parts cheaper than renault sell them for?

Who has used either company and what do you think to them?

im just trying to widen my knowledge thats all of who i can ring, or where i can go for servicing or parts etc
and its good there both so close, makes a nice change! :D

and ANDY GDI i guess you will be replying!
just wondering what your company offers and also reccomends as the best tuning mods for the 172 to get good gains for ££

ive used BBPT to buy parts from, good service, good club discount, expensive delivery

ive used GDI for a full engine conversion, very very happy with the level of the work, first class

You also have Yozzasport too, for parts and engine/suspension/brake work. They have played a big part in pioneering NA clio tuning. You can click on their web banner at the top of this page.

Hill Power too have various performance parts and engine tuning packages I believe

BBPT - 01787 220 456
GDI - 01954 719 007
Hill power - 01530 273633

All reputable tuning specialists, give them a call.

your best vfm mod for bhp & torque is to have your inlet manifold matched by either BenR @ AWT or Nick @ Hillpower. your looking at about £180ish

Clio-lane, not being funny mate but what do you mean by; "They have played a big part in pioneering NA clio tuning" ?

Cheers, Gary.

My understanding of the clio tuning world is that BBPT and K-tec do the turbo side of things, and Yozza, GDI and Hill Power handle the NA side. Weren't the Yozza and GDi parties all working together at one point and those results have produced the respective companies packages? But as the Yozza boys have had 'involvement' in both companies, then that is why I put what I did. Yozzasport and GDi are the two leaders in the clio NA field as far as I can see. GDi probably has the edge in numbers of cars converted, if this site is anything to go by, but I'd imagine they'll be a few more 200bhp+ Yozzasport clios this year.

alright gary/andy - just got home - what a bloody drive! I hate my car at the moment!
Best value for money in my opinion is inlet matched - I shall be heading back to GDI very soon - will let you kow what difference it makes to my car.

nice one mate! save up for those H&R's ;)

clio-lane, your facts are slighty inaccurate...GDI have done many, many more cars than yozzasport. Especially as they are yet to complete any to my knowledge. No doubt they will have done a few car's by the summer and I wish them luck! In my opinion GDI have the 'edge' in more than a few ways....for example; they are able to sell, fit and map an Individual Throttle Body kit.

Dont want this to turn into an aguement btw, end of the day its the customer's choice who they take their car to.

Ps. Fred....my car's too low!, its official :S ;) lol

No problem Gary, a bit of competition is always healthy. Choice for customers is always a good thing too. :)

lol.

I had a very long chat with Mark Fish at Autosport.....he's decent guy but i got the feeling that he was a little behind on the tuning side of things. I dont doubt that his servicing and vehicle preparation is very good indeed!

ahahahaha so easy to get peoples backs up on here,

you gotta go to his pemises to and speak to him about what scoming up before judging

I didnt really judge him mate, just said that he appeared to be a little behind. I chatted to him in length about S/C conversions and also on the engine management side of things. He appeared to be more knowledgable about chassis mods and setup thats all.

I was there about 8 weeks ago... and on the phone to him last week...

I believe he has a few things in the pipeline.

We get some of our suspension work setup there.... he has a bilstein coilover kit for the clio 182 coming out for track use as well.

ITB's

its nothing new in the industry anyhow....... so wooohooo.

If you are going to spend some money on your car I think it is up to you to do some research.

Speak to all of the above see if they have what you are after or are able to tailor a package to suit you.

I have my work done at GDI for the following reasons -

They have a good setup and on all my visits have had a number of cars being worked on (good sign).

It is within a resonable (just) distance from where I live.

AWT is in the same building. Bens developement of cams exhaust inlets etc and knowledge of the engines is a big plus.

They are all nice guys and are always available to spend time listening to what you want and tailoring a package to suit you. They will always tell you if what you think you want is the best solution for your requirements even if they lose money out of it.

Mark Fish, Hill Power, GDI, BBPT are all reputable, established Renault tuners do some research and decide on the best one for you.

PS. Yozzasport was missed from the list as they are a new company just starting out. I hope they do well and they can be added to the list in future to give Renault owners another choice.

lad.................... what a comedy company they are!!

they just pick random bhp figures and say looook at meeeee ive got 455743839 bhp from a filter and exhaust!!

they also blew a friends car up on the rollers and tryed to blame him lol!!

if i own a clio again (very possible) i will be going to see gdi about verious bits that i would want, performance wise and haneling!!

  GDI ???BHP Cliosport172
I know me joining in this thread will throw a spanner in the works because im very very BBPT friendly however. Ive seen alot of stuff BBPT have done and what they have explained to me has turned out to be correct certainly where my car is concerned but im still lost that when i asked for a few of these other companies to stand tall and PROVE what they could do it seemed that asked such a question would cause alot of offence. On Sun 5th of March BBPT are holding a rolling road day(see post in local meetings). Now on previous occasions when we have tried to solve any disagreement we decided it would be good to all meet up and see if people were telling the truth of not only to get to the day and for some reason all the other companies didnt turn up! Now this is a day when you get the chance to show overs what you have been talking about. If i was to go to a rolling road day and all these other companies actually turned up and proved that what they were saying was true then id happily shake their hand!
But until that day im very unsure of what i read.
Just because its at BBPT HQ doesnt mean any disadvantage just a chance to show us that all you so called cars they claim 200+bhp are actually running what you say you are.
Im very sorry for opening a large can of worms but it had to be said.
See you all on the 5th.

jph... not a can of worms at all..... its old hat tbh.... been over and over this soo many times
