Gear Box Noise

Hi All,

When I put my car into reverse i can hear a kinda clunk noise. It is also a lot tighter to pur into revers than my gf's clio.

Both 2004 clios mine is a dci dynamique 15000k hers is a 1.2 expression 5000k.

Should I be worried?

Do you creep forward slightly in 1st gear with the pedal on the floor? Could be the clucth dragging?

Nope this is from a stand still when engaging reverse. The hand break is still on. I press the clutch fully and engage the reverse gear it makes a slight clunk and is a little stiff.

Try changing the gearbox oil - use 75/80's elf. If that doesnt help your synchro rings maybe on there way out - the infamous JB3 box is used in the 1.5 dci - not the best box about im afraid

Thats not so good.

The car is only 1.5 years old so if it is on the way out I would hope they would replace under warenty!!

Surely i shouldn't need to change the oil after 15k!!!
