gear change indicator

Hi, just bought my clio 182 so i'm still familiarising myself with all the gadgets. I've noticed a gear symbol on the dash, would I be right in assuming that it's a gear change indicator or is that just wishful thinking.

It is the gear changing indicator, ignore it.

It's an over-revving warning light.

I found this in some strange un used book I found in my glovebox. It's called a 'manual' or something and it tells you what all the lights do in your car. Amazing!

As far as i'm concerned, Light = bad!
I wouldn't aim to wait to change gear until it lights up.
