Gear grinding

Car  Clio RS Sport
Hey guys, new to the the Clio sport world.
Have recently purchased a 2012 RS SPORT.
When it I’m cruising in 6th and out the foot down it grinds on the down change to 5th.
Is this a common or known issue ?
Thanks

Unfortunately, the gearboxes are a known issue with all fast clios, I'd suggest you get to a Renault sport specialist for a closer look.
Did the car come with a warranty?

They are known as a weaker point on the RS's - but my 182 gearbox has only started sounding noisy after 165k miles.

A lot will come down to how it has been driven in the past and of course, maintenance.

My 172 has just had a new box after 101,000 miles. To be honest, french electronics and occasional dodgy injectors aside, from what I've worked out so far the major expensive issues are gearboxes and dephasers. Engines are tough, they don't rust and they're pretty good on suspension components/bushes and brakes.

You could try Renparts for a good used gearbox, l bought one from them for my 182 and it was perfect.
You also get a warranty with Renparts, although you’d need to remove the box and send it back if there was a fault.
