Hey I'm a new driver and have a 172 and i was wondering when is the best time to change gears at what mph. When i set off fast from the lights by the time i chagne to gear 2 i hear a loud revving noise and im scared its bad for the engine, when is the best time to change the gears from 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 please ^^

by the way i got that stupid engine mount problem and also gear problem ( when coming to a traffic light and stopping and dropping down from a gear I.E from 4 - 1 there seems to be something that feels liek something is in the way so you got to add a little more force to get into gear 1 again), i saw someone with the same problem too, how do u fix it?

Are you using clutch when changing down?

drop it into second, until your a complete stop and then select first. no point trying to ram it in

Yeah your not ment to drop from a high gear to first, its a protection thing to stop it going into gear so you dont blow ya box up!

Its the synco whioch don't like change down like that so either blip the throttle or double de clutch.

As for the optimim chnage up you need a RR check realy.
