Gearbox "Click" 1st gear

In 1st gear when you gently accelerate and then back off you obviously get some engine/gearbox shift on the mounts back and forth.

My Cup has started to make a click on forward and backwards movement of the box/engine, its quite loud and metallic sounding as if the gear stick is hitting the front and rear of the gearbox tunnel and seems to be coming from somewhere down by the gear stick.

Anyone have any ideas? Linkage issue?

Just been out in the car and it seems to make the "Click" noise in all gears under acceleration and engine breaking... Is there a shield around the gearbox area or something?

mileage? engine mounts replaced before?

This is probably your cars way of telling you, you need the engine mounts replacing.

i'd go with that. i've just had my clunks clicks and knocks sorted. doesnt even bang in first gear any more. maybe the gearbos mount has worked loose. prone to it.

Mounts - Not repalced to my knowledge

Ill have a look at the weekend at the mounts and see if I can see anything I guess, Im not using it as worried about more damage.

16500! now that is low.

Mounts shouldnt have gone that quick unless you've had a learner driving the car.
dunno if the rubber deteoriates over the years

The only other thing i can think is my Exhaust is Banging like a S++t house door in the plague maybe its a heat shield or something
