gearbox crunch

a while ago my gearbox started being a bit gay, needed a lot of force to go into certain gears then it just went away and everything was fine, now its started crunching when i change from 1st to 2nd and its a struggle to get it into 1st sometimes, its a 05 plate dynamique and its just done 13k, any ideas whats causing it? i plan to take it back to renault but i have 17's led lights and a induction kit will these be a problem? ta addz

I'd take the 17's off before it goes back to renault because they may argue that they've contibuted to the problem.
Sounds like the syncros are worn or knackered, I had it on my old 1.2 on 1st and 2nd but it had done 36k and was 4 1/2yr old and it shouldn't have been happening then. Seeing as its under warrenty take it back and let them sort it, new gearbox at worst.

Infact seeing as they're all easy to take off/put on i'd put it back to complete standard before it goes back so they've got no reason to complain.

yeah think i might, apart from splitter cos my old one is in pieces somewhere also if i pull off too quick it can jump out of gear sometimes, i no some smart arse is gonna say dont do it then....:rasp:
