Gearbox crunching

Gearbox crunches more often than not when sticking it into reverse, clutch is fully depressed aswell, any ideas? is it on its way out?

Try changing the oil mate, did this on mine last week and things are much smoother.

Yeah i've had this problem a few times too,have to do it really gently and smoothly. Can't be my gearbox oil as i've only done 14k miles and was told it only needs changing around 50-60k??

That is what Renault say though. They also say Spark plugs and cam belts last until 72k and we all know that isn't the case.

If the car is driven hard, it is perfectly feasibile that the oils lubricating capabilities are not what they once were giving the crunching.

For the sake of £15-20 and half an hour, i'd give it a crack. I was having the same problem with reverse but this has erradicated it.
