Gearbox help needed

Hi all I have a 2000 1.4 Clio engine e7j model ever since I got it two years ago when trying to select first gear say pulling up to traffic lights or something the car has to be nearly be stopped before it'll go in is this normal ?

That's not good for any car tbh, it won't do your 1st gear synchro any good, just dip the clutch and select 1st once you stop.

Done this around 5k ago
