gearbox ratio

Hi all does anyone use a closer ratio gearbox for track use done a couple of track days and barly get into 5th is it possible to run a box from a 1.2 etc many thanks rob

If it's got jc5 on the casing, it'll fit. However, the sport boxes are the ones with closer ratios. You could always fit the Megane jc5 106 5th gear as its more like a 4.5, or failing that build in a different final drive.

I believe it is a jc5 its a pretty standard 172 just wondered if it was worth using somthing lower ratio and if anyone recommend doing it just a thought really
