the missus has just had her car fail its mot, and basically it is going to cost more to fix it up than it is actually worth! Can anyone tell me what i need to do to get rid of it? (PROPERLY!!)
thanks,
, just need to convince her that she needs a new V6 255 in red now!
Check your local paper, with cost about £30 to have someone come along and remove it. You need to fill in a sorn declaration when you take it off the road/runs out of tax.
Yeah my local scrappy is free if you take the car to them, ive dumped a few on them over the years, you might want to ring them first and check before taking it down there. If you want it picked up just ask them who collects for them theyll probably give you a mobile no of someone with a hiab that does council collections.
If your looking to get rid of it for free, Ill have a word with my dad. He runs a driving project for under age drivers and relies on donated cars for it!!
Their usually MOT failures but still in generally good working order and condition. He deals with all the paperwork, and lets the DVLA know, so the cars are registered under the projects name.
The project has been out of action but should be up and running at Brooklands Museum in September. Hes been away so Im not sure what the car situation is like, they may already have enough...but I can have a word if that helps you?
take tax disc off, dump it, phone council, they will send the registered owner (you) a letter regarding dumped vehicle, ignore it, hey presto! Council will uplift for you, works in Edinburgh anyway
yeah still in staines, if you have a word with your dad and see if he needs it, let me know, i would have to confirm that the missus is ok with it, but could be a good option if you want it.
