Gloves... Yes... Gloves...

Winter is coming, and spending 3 hours outside with wet hands is murder :dapprove:

Keeping the water a touch warmer is a good start to keeping my hands, but what else can I do to keep them warm?

Water proof gloves that I can get inside my mitts?

normal washing up gloves do the trick, a surprising amount of thermal-ness when coupled with hot water

Dont spend 3 hours outside?

Hoovering out the interior, cleaning the wheels, car, then drying takes about that long

If not longer.

I'll look into 'seal skins', no idea what they are, I'll give washing up marigolds a go aswell.

Thanks guys!

My hands hurt when Im ringing out while drying :(

I have sensitive hands lol, they often peal a layer like a snake.

Yeah mate, I know that's the worst part.

You need warm water to wring the towel out with mate. Bucket of warm water, after using the towel on the car, dip it in the warm water then ring it out.

Should save your hands from frost bite!

Won't that just make the towel wetter and there for less effective at drying?

Nope.

Use towel, place in hot water, ring out water, use.

All you are doing is replacing the cold water from the car, with warm water from the bucket.

man up you girl alex! lol. Know what you mean though, washing etc aint the prob but when it comes to trying, hurts squeezing out the towel!

I thought this was for work or something. You want expensive gloves to wash the car?

Give it time and your hands will harden and be immune to the cold. Sealskins will do the trick otherwise, but you'll have girly hands for life!

I have caluses from the gym and everything, but I have small wrists and thin fingers :(

Cleaning might be for women, but clean cars are for tidy people :approve:

I love how everyone flocked to call me girly hands lol.

Or roll with the dirty look, I dare you.

I can't do that baby.

Washed the car saturday, wasn't too cold but I hatched a plan.

Before I started drying I set the drier going, warmed it up alittle. Then went over the car and get most of the standing water off, went and stuck it in the drier. Popped my centre caps back on my wheels and went back, was quite abit drier and went over the car again to success.

Or I could just buy another towel...
