You could probably pick up a hero 2 with bits for £150 now mate so I'd just do that.

No i wouldnt get it tbh. I had one of the originals back in 2007 not HD and the sound quality is no where near as good as the later ones. Yes it ran on AAA batteries.

Minimum you should go for is a HeroHD. They did a standard def wide version but again the sound quality is pretty poor.

Just pay the extra 50 buff and get a 2.
