Good alarm systems....

  Renault Clio 172
Wondered if people could help me....

I need a new alarm quite urgently...

I have a smooth boot so require a boot release solenoid thing to be fitted and linked up to alarm and also for the alarm to obviously sound if someone is trying to break into the car. Don't need proximity sensors or remote start or anything fancy just want something that will tell me if someones trying to break in and obviously so I can open and lock my car

What alarms would people recommend and how much would they cost?

Thanks

Lol yep thanks to Brian! but now I can't get in again but I have access to the engine lol Getting RAC out tomorrow to see if they can fix the mechanisms and want to get an alarm sorted so I don't have anymore problems lol

I'd go with a cobra or a toad one tbh, cat 1 all the way. It'll cost you about £300 or so maybe more depending on the model you go for, it should also reduce your insurance too.

Hi Stacey, give me a call, I will sort something out for you, including fixing those damn locks so you can get in the car on a regular basis.....:)

You need an alarm with at least 2 additional channels, one to pop your boot and another to operate the drivers door lock if you are going to stick with the "no lock" look.

I would fit a Clifford for you, as it fills all your requirements. and remember what I said about the fail safe wire ;)

I've just got back from work and called the RAC lol

Shut the doors last night and now they won't open even though the popper things are up :s

Was thinking RAC may be able to get into it and fix the mechanism?

Hi Stacey,

I did wonder what you were going to do after I left, I couldn’t understand how you got into the car to bring it home in the first place.

I don’t think the RAC will want to know about fixing those locks, that’s not their thing, they will just take it into a Renault dealer and leave you to face the bill.

Personally, I would call the people who did that delocking for you and tear their heads off, leaving you without a way to get into your car is stooopid beyond belief.

I told you I thought they had taken out the rods from the handles to the locks, the more I think about it, I am convinced that’s exactly what they have done.

Do you want me to come and open it up again for you ?

You have my mobile number.....let me know...

Thanks very much!

Well I took half day off and got RAC to open it up and then left the door open and drove to the bodyshop who fixed it for me so I can now get in and out of the car again. Will be getting alarm asap just trying to find out which one to go for really.

Thanks again Brian for coming out and helping me, least the battery got charged (will be getting new one)!

Thanks again and if anyone knows of a decent alarm that would be great!
