Gordini stripes - removal?!?

If you were to remove the original Gordini white stripes from the bodywork of a 2 year old racing blue 182 would it leave a different tone paint underneath or damage the laquer at all?

more than likely but colour restorer may help

suggest removing a boot part which can be easily repaired if the sunbleach is too much

I'm interested in getting a racing blue in the future and just wondered if removing them is a possibility if I didn't like them!

dale - get some pics up of yours please if it is black with stripes?
