A Yellow One
Had my 172 wheels on since FCS this year and had no rubbing or anything. Had new tyres fitted a few weeks back and still no apparent rubbing until last night when going round a roundabout I got a loud knocking noise :S 1st thoughts were oh f**k whats happened as it was coming from the same wheel I had a bearing replaced just before my tyres. Thinking the worst that it could be the bearing broken up.
Limped it home took the wheel off in the rain :dapprove: only to find the bearing is fine but the arch liner is being rubbed away - no signs of rubbing on the inside of the tyre though - my immediate thought was the weight on the inside rim so took that off, cut the bit of liner that was sticking out off, put the spare on and took it for a drive. the noise has gone
So this morning I went to my tyre place and got matt to take the rear nearside off and rebalance it but with a sticky weight instead. When he took the offside off I noticed its rubbed a hole right through in a slightly different place :S. There is evidence of rubbing on the rim protector of the tyre on the offside but nothing on the nearside.
I dont carry passengers in the back very often at all so can someone please help!!!
All I can think of is a few mm spacers but where can I get some from?
