got my willy back!





picked up my valver yesterday, with its williams engine and gearbox, had it chipped by HP while it was being fitted and what can i say?! its a bit quick! traction in first is pretty difficult in the DRY so i bet its fun in the wet(or not). the most impressive thing is how it pulls in 3rd 4th and 5th, it just keeps pulling. getting my license back in 2 weeks so i have got time to get everything right on the car, had the rocker cover off cos it was leaking today, gonna give the engine a proper going over, new plugs, leads, low temp thermo, new heat shield and a pretty good clean. any tips on the best leads or add on mods for a willy? also there is a stupidly loud tapping noise when you start up that disappears when its warmed up, a lazy tappet, can it be fixed?
 


ouch of curiosity, what did you loose your liscence for? Just seems alot of people I know have lost theirs in the last 6 month or so. The dreaded speed camera to blame on most of them....

Nice 1 mate; ive got Magnecor 8mm as they were cheaper than the original leads & MUST be better. Stupidly loud ticking noise is the fact that ur Oil is too thick when cold (GTX); i solved mine by using Mobil 1 which is expensive though.

If the engine hasnt had oil & fuel treatments then it could be worth it but then u have to buy a new oil filter and the oil. U can ask Adi to find out though. U can also get Hydrolic valve treatment from Halfords which ive got but havent put in yet cause my oil is at the MAX point so will have to wait. Hoping this will lower the volume of the ideal valve ticking aswell. I dont see the point in the low temp thermo personally, 1/3 temp when moving all the time anyway in mine.
