GPRM (F1)

Don't know if anyone's ever played F1 Management games before, but this has been in production for a number of years, and is due for beta testing now, a release supposedly months away - before the start of the 2010 season is the plan. Will be released with a fantasy dataset, but mods will be available.

I've been involved a bit in it's development and testing and can honestly say it blows away any other management game I've played. Looks decent for F1 fans :)

Just a question, "fantasy dataset" means real cars/drivers but random performance meaning nelson piquet might win a race fairly?

Also, why is olivier panis (and alot of other older drivers) in the game, did they take the data from the day they decided to start production or something flol.

Interesting!

I did buy both Grand Prix Managers' by Microprose back in the early 90s, but I never really got 'into' them. There were quite a few options and inputs to change, but it was very, very easy to run out of money. A bit like real F1 teams, I guess? :)

The screenshot above is from an old build, using 2003 dataset. The current dataset is 2007 with fictional names and teams - although this can be corrected by mods upon release. It doesn't have the F1 licence, so can't ship with real data.

It's waaaaaaaay more in depth than Grand Prix World - which was probably the best game out at the time.

ohh i see =/ thats a shame if it has no F1 licence then, relying on modders to provide it instead seems like a bad strategy. Can they not get the licence?

It costs a crap load of money - and Codemasters have got it. The mods have already been done, so will be available on release day ;)
