Green performance filters

I purchased a Green performance panel filter today, was only £30 so kinda thought why not.

It's going in the Mk3 and I will be letting all know how it is in the car, not expecting anything great, more of an experiment for the greater good of CS :rasp:

After looking into this quite a lot I concluded that there is going to be jack s**t difference between a clean paper element and an aftermarket one.

I mean the aftermarket one will be more "free flowing" as such but the increased surface area of the paper element will compensate for this.

Thought they would be the same surface area just the aftermarket one will be more free flowing ?

As I said, expecting no gains I was curious and had some spare money, Like to feel things for my self as it where lol

Right well its in the car and so Far I'm Impressed TBH.

IMO it pulls away better and when I downchange to go up hills or speed up ETC it pulls alot harder.

It's only a 1.2 so its still slow, not claiming to have gain umpty wumpty HP BUT it does feel a little sharper.

I went for the ITG panel filter from k-tec, tbh couldn't tell any difference from standard but been told it helps the engine breathe more freely etc and may have very minimal gains.

main benefit of aftermarket filters is you can clean them

I've got a green cotton one fitted to the vee, no noticeable difference at all for me (I wasn't expecting there to be really) It's possibly made the car slightly louder when opennig it up, but nothing major.
The one it had (standard item) was quite dirty.
