Just renewed with them
They seamed to actually know what I was talking about, going to remove my decat though as they wanted to know how my car passes the MOT with it on lol.

EVERY mod on my car is down, even my painted side badges and silver indicator bulbs.

Was odd though, i kept sayng all the mods and the price was not going up.

Could you not just declare the decat as full exhaust system? shame you've got to remove it now

  Abarth 500 Essesse
yeh no increase in premium for under 40BHP is what they told me, if you add anything else mid-term it will just be the £25 admin :)

  Audi TT
I found them cheap and mod friendly. Declared my rear lights, carbon bonnet and carbon cup splitter. They said when I get my new alloys, brakes, suspension ring up and should just be £25 admin fee to put them on policy. Didn't go so far as the silverlines and aero wipers though that's surely not got to be declared!?!

Great insurance company I think. Never had any problem with them. Well the £25 admin fee is a bit of a piss take, as the work they do doesn't reflect them charging you 25 quid.

I had to pay that just to change my registration over.

The £25 will cover all mods tho... Unless its a huge engine upgrade!. I asked them how much I would get charged for H&R's + Induction Kit + Aftermarket Exhaust + remap and the chap said it would only be the admin fee

Some companies don't even let you do anything unless your over 25

£25 is a bargain compared to what some insurance want to charge to cover mods, like for like replacement too :)

indeed... the greenlight chaps are very helpful.

Even had a friendly chat with them about my trip to the Nurburgring, with some useful advice if I was to crash while out there :approve:

£50 a day trackday cover is great too.

lol @ declaring silvervision bulbs!

I don't think I've ever paid the admin fee when adding my mods.. maybe they like me better than you :p

Would be nice if Neil were to come back again, but several members saw fit to destroy those bridges, f*****s :(

I tried 5 times to get a quote with this company. Filled in the computer details, wouldnt give me a price, rang them up and couldnt get hold of them through the automated system so gave up and went with Elephant

automated system? there's a legal rights recording and then your through... i've never had to wait more than 10 seconds to get through.

they have several underwriters iirc... and choose the best one for your policy.

Saying that, mine's always been Highway for the last 3 years

Yeah i do have a compulsary excess of £350, and voluntary of £0,
yours could have compulsary of £350 and then your voluntary of £350 meaning you loose £700 of any payout.

I did listen to what you say, but noone else could touch them on price with mods, for a saving of £400ish i'll take the risk.

What happened?

I've read in other posts that they often don't record all the mods that people declare... Then can get fussy if you try to claim. I asked for a confirmation letter with my mods as a hard copy.

^See my comments in other highway related threads (i never had to claim thank god) they can't even get basic paperwork right.

It seems really random with insurers. Both Jain and I were with Adrian Flux a few years back and I had no issues with mods on the PGTT, but Jain had no end of issues with her standard MCS.

It wasn't so much the premium that was issue, but the complete inept attitude of the people she dealt with. Whereas I spoke to people that knew what a car was - the tools she spoke to had some severe mental inability to accept the 'standard fit' alarm form from Mini.

After weeks of wrangling, she went elsewhere. I only switched from AD as there were (bizarrely) a lot more expensive than others to insure my standard 182.

I have been insured with Green Light for two years now with no probs. they ahve always been real helpful and they are always really chatty. they even gave me advice on what mods to go for and told me about which track days are good lol!!!!! this is coming from an insurance company!?!?!? never known anything like it.

When it came to insuring my valver I had a mod list covering two A4 pieces of paper and Green light had no issues at all!

Cost me about £650 fully comp with everything declared, age 24, 2 yncb.
