Grill Help!

I went to my local Renault dealer yesterday to buy a sports grill for my Renault clio 1.2 16v Dynamique 54 reg and was told that the 172 grill will not fit, because it is a different allignment. But on here people are saying they do fit so i was just wandering because i am slightly confused.
