driveshaft or wheel bearing it sounds like.

definately not a mount if it's grinding noises you're hearing.

like a dull rumbling noise is it?

I'm getting this too, started happening after I changed the dog bone bushes, very nasty noise when pulling away hard. How do you check the other mounts (where are they, I can see the one at the top of the engine bay??) and what about the drive shaft, sounds expensive, how can I check it?? The car drives fine at normal speeds but as soon as you try to nip in anywhere it grinds!

Cheers,

Mike.

if its hard acceleration when pulling away , its probably the downpipe hitting on the subframe.
need to have the engine top mount adjusted and get the others checked.

it started off by doing it only under hard acceleration, now it does it under mild acceleration, i don't think its wheel bearings because it doesn't grind when cruising along, i am going to have to play around with all the mounts until i cure the problem.

It must be engine mount... Your downpipe is hitting subframe. I had a same thing and fixed it with making my central bottom engine mount stiffer so it does not let engine move that much (just little bit... but it worked). I even changed it once with brand new one but situation was the same very soon, and it gets worse and worse as it gets loose...

Is the central bottom engine mount what's called the dog-bone or is there another one, as I said, I've changed the bushes for powerflex ones and it's developed an even worse noise!! Can someone give me an idea of where all the mounts are and there difficulty in changing them?

Many thanks.

is it the bottom dog bone mount, i had a look at that the other day it was very very close to the mounting point on the sub frame!, should i replace it, or re adjust it? thankyou

Can't adjust it I don't think mate, only held there with two bolts, you can replace the whole thing or just the bushes which is what I did, half hours work, although mine is now worse for some reason!!
