Halfords Hands Free Kits

  Focus ST3 + proper Mini

Anyone had one of this kits fitted? £99 fitted.

Its meant to be hard wired into the radio. does all the auto mute thing with the radio, and call goes through car speakers.

LOL

IMHO you are ALWAYS best to go for OE applications, they are the only certified equipment that is safe to use

plus will only cost you another couple of quid to have fitted, in fact, some are cheaper than the halfords crap

Im probably getting the Parrot Bluetooth Kit... the latest version is fully voice activated and also has a button.. its quite cool... but, you have to have bluetooth!

Ill probably install it meself.. I guess some people would ask quite a bit, heh.

installing a car kit can be done in the dark upside down with ya hands tied behind your back with a large badger angerily biting at your b****cks its that easy

Can it really be that bad? In what way? Are we saying it doesnt work at all, poor sound quality, fooks up the phone? What?

On the other hand, if you are saying that Halfords advertise it, take your money and then cant actually supply it, Ill believe it without further question.

the kits arent approved by the manufactures

if the phone goes wrong it wont have a warranty

all im saying is

warrantee on phone - voided

price - OE stuff cheaper than Halfords to buy, but much better in terms of construction, appearance, and sound quality

Ive got a Sony T610. So wots the best kit to get. i dont want to spend a fortune??

Ren want £95 + extra for the holder +labour for fitting

I dont want a big unsightly holder screwed to the dash, it true rep mobile fashion.

My dads got one of the halfords kits on his laguna. Havent found anything wrong with it. One of the things i like about it is if you change your phone which lets face it happens every 12months you can buy a new lead which goes from the main control box to your new phone. This leads only cost £15 were if you had a factory fitted kit you would have to make sure your new phone fits or buy a new kit. Its also a piece of piss to take out and fit to your next car.

How do they know you have one of these handsfree kits even if your phone does f**k up?

Or am i being stoned!!

It is. I think its a crackin kit. My dads was the first one fitted at one of are local halfords (we have 4). Had no problems with it.

from the ones i have installed, and the others that have been installed at my store, there has been very few with problems, and that only usually occurs when using old phones such as nokia 3210 (yes .... some people still use these )

and like mentioned above, a lot of people change their phone every 12 months, and the phone specific cable is only £17.

so far they have been very popular, because they are very reasonably priced, ok tom, u may be able to get OE ones for less, but mr family man, who wants one installed in his family people carrier cant. they are twice the price at carphone warehouse etc.

strange, because we fit OE systems for £84.99 (found out this morning)

and give our own guarantee for 3 years that nothing will go wrong

ok, so the halfords ones allows you to change phones, and all you need is a new cable for £17??? thats an absolute bargain!

would like to have a bluetooth one tho
