Hand Snow Foam?

To get the effect of "snow foam" you will need a foam lance and pressure washer or something like a gilmore (sp?) foam-master - although I believe that this gets mixed reviews.

If you want something to do a similar job you would be best looking at pre-wash cleaners, although they are not always very cost effective.

Of recent I have been using AF Citrus power which does a gret job IMO, but I've got through 2 bottles in about the past 6-8 car washes

Sure someone with a bit more product knowledge will be on hand shortly to input :)

You won't get any kind of foam affect without a pressure washer.

citrus power is good as a pre wash and is wax safe so won't damage your protective layer. there are other pre washes but I'm not sure how wax safe they are. I would say though that it is far to easy to over apply citrus power with the spray head it comes with. I can use 100ml on a 08 Focus and that is enough to start to break down the dirt. I've also been trying it diluted 50/50 with water and it still works well but using about 150ml

Citrus Power ftw, works better than snow foam for me, but it's costly in Litre form.

Tried any higher dilution rates Dave? I did a top up with 2 inches of Citrus in the bottom of the litre bottle, wasn't half as effective.

tried 1:5 but had to leave it quite some time to start to break it down, but by which time the more watery product was running more and dripping off the panels

The next best paint cleaner / degreaser i have used other than snow foam and a lance is autoglyms multi cleaner PM3 in a simple pressure bottle. Comes in 5L container and really does a great job at degreasing before a wash in 1:4 solutions

If youre not bothered about foam, then a citrus pre wash or a mix of G101 with hot water through a sprayer will make for a good pre wash.

Itll probably be more effective than snowfoam too.

No more than snowfoam will.

Use it well diluted - 10:1.

Use it hot and its a degreaser as well as an APC.

Cold its just an APC.

Spray the pannel, wait a minute, then spray off with a pressure washer.

Cool, the more i read about G101 the more i realise i need to get some. not much of my current APC left so will order some when it runs out.

I did hear that citrus power concentrate may not happen due to containers no being suitable. Must contain some serious orange and lemon juice!

I pondered over it for about 2 years and never manned up until about 6 months ago. once you get it youll realise how amazing it is. One of the best products ive ever bought.

Watch the video on washing technique, he uses a gilmor foam thingy, it's more soapy wash solution than foam. None will cling to the car to break down the dirt. I also have o.e of the pump prayers, that I pump really hard and a million times to give super duper pressure. It certainly doesn't come close to foaming. Therefore you won't be getting any use from spraying it on your car other than pre wetting it with something that doesn't work as well as a shampoo.

But if you really want to foam your car, you can't do it to a suitable standard without a pressure washer. But then you need to think about your household water pressure, the pressure the washer operates and its flow rate, as if any if these are down you won't get a real clingy foam that you see the pros and enthusiast achieving.

I've had a foam lance for 18months and very rarely use it as I'd rather use citrus power
