Handbrake cable Leeds

I bought a handbrake cable for my ph1 172 from Euro car parts in Leeds where i queued for about 40 minutes, crawled under my car, burnt myself on the exhaust, and the cable is the wrong length.

Does anybody have any recomendations of where to get one from? How much am I looking at to get one from Renault?

Also recomendations for a place to get it MOT'd asap!

Be worth pm'ing or emailing fred@btm (see traders section). He ordered one for my car, but didn't need it in the end. Not back in UK till after the weekedn though. Approx £40 iirc from Renault.

Yeah, just called renault and they want £40 which is slightly more that the £12 I paid for the cheapo wrong cable

Maybe they sold you phase 2 cables, they are a different length

Is the cable adjuster on the handbrake lever or under the car?

Ive got some used phase 1 cables from a W plate car if they are any good to you

The adjuster is on the lever inside the car, took me ages to find as I was expecting to find it underneath. Mine is X reg so it should be the same right?

I put a new exhaust on it last weekend and then half an hour before my MOT the cable snapped! I gave the bloke literally every single detail about the car and the cable is about 3 inches too short.

I'm driving to manchester this afternoon, and my MOT runs out in a week!
