Handbrake Help - 1.2 16v

ok, i have the early 2002 dynamique model and i have noticed that my handbrake cant be pushd from side to side, as far as the seats either side of it, anyone else got this problem? or can anyone gimme any advice? worth taking it in to show reanault? also my car is just oast 17,000 miles now, whens the next service due? 18k? thanks for any help

18K is the first service. Not sure what you mean with the handbrake??? Do you mean can be or cant be??? If it can be that sounds quote worrying!!!!
