Hard drive partition

is there anyway of getting rid of a hard drive partition. i have a 160gb drive and 40gb of it is partitioned and i don't need that kind of partition at all. anyway of going back to just the sole hard drive or reducing the partition.

btw running vista home premium if it matters....
