hard drive question

ive just started putting films and stuff on my ipod and as a result ive used up all my space on my laptop hard drive.

im thinking about getting on the those external hard drives, is it a case of just plugging it in and start saving videos and songs to that instead of my c drive?

ive also got windows vista and it says i need 15gb to install it, can i install it onto a external hd and run vista ok?

finally wheres the cheapest place to get one? im only after about a 120 gb one.

1. Yes just a matter of plugging it in and putting the files onto it.
2. I think you can install Vista on an external but I would advise against it.
3. This is good for the price, your better off getting a larger capacity one now days as 120Gb is not going to be value for money.

do they come with software that you need to install?

ive read that all you need to do is plug and it in and the computer will detect and auto install?

No software needed on new operating systems like Vista, just plug it in and it works, showing you another drive like your 'C' drive.

oh right, i think ill get that one you put up, thats a bargin, i was in staples today and they had 120gb ones for £80 so that 400gb is a bargin
