Has this dephaser been changed?

Stripping down today to do cambelt service and found this paintmark on dephaser.
Are they like this from the factory or is this a tell tale of having been changed?

never noticed that on any that I've seen. I dont worry about the dephaser unless its noisy, regular oil changes is key to looking after it.
