Have i been given the wrong clutch cable?

Bought a new clutch cable from my friendly local Renault dealer for my mk1 172. It looks totally different to the OE one currently on the car, at the gear box end.

Mine dosent have those gold weight things as in the picture.

Have i been given the wrong cable or have they changed the style of them??

how do you know when you clutch cable needs changing? heavy clutch feel when depressing the pedal?

Mostly people only change them when they break I reckon. If in doubt though change it, does no harm.
