Have i broke the adjuster on my xenon's...

Hey guys,

182 on colies so quite low, tried to manually adjust the beam so its higher as it was pointing to the floor, did this but now there too high.. however when i try to put them down, they wont move at all :(

Someone please tell me i havent broke it :(

I pulled the adjusters out on the car, and the beams went back down to low again, when turning the little white thing with an allen key now and again i could hear like a motor move for a split second then stop.

Someone help me :(

you need to "hook" it in...

the ball on the end of the white stick that pokes out slides up into it's housing. Kinda hard to explain, but just pushing it back in straight won't work. You need to angle it down then slide it in then pull up so it goes into the horseshoe from the bottom open end if that makes sense... once hooked in then put the clip in and twist to lock in place.

good way to test to see if you have it hooked or not is just lightly push on the back of the bulb housing while looking at the cluster from the front. It's flapping about then you don't have it hooked.

You will need the lights out to do it! Be very very carefull not to break the wee white bit!

affraid I'm gonna have to disagree there...I've done 3 now (different 172's, not just my one) and everytime done without removing the light.

Ah that will be why, i was just trying to push it straight in.

When you say "once hooked in then put the clip in and twist to lock" what do you mean by "clip" the actually unit or should there be a clip somewhere ?

Rhino - how do you do it without removing the light ? just angle the stick downwards then when its in pull upwards ?

Thanks for your help its appriciated - i was feeling an expensive bill :|

exactly that. It's a bit fiddly and don't force it too much as you don't want to snap it, you'll feel it pop in place though

As for the clip I mean just put the whole thing in and twist it to lock it in as you already have done, sorry for the cunfusion it's not the easiest to explain lol

I think i understand buddy :), i hope i havent snapeed it, do you mean careful not to snap the long black bar. i was doing it last night so couldnt see alot but that all looked in tact :)

Thanks for your help :)

Fixed, removed adjuster, removed black bar, pushed back into adjuster, pushed back into headlight, full adjustment is back :)
