I tried to fill it and bleed it tonight but It doesn't seem to want to play ball!

Any tips for best way to do it?

Edit: Oh its a 172 engine btw!

did you take the bleed screw out?

The 1 on the side of the thermo housing? Yeh I did and I got some air come out and then a tiny bit of water but the system doesn't seem to be circulating as such like id did on my Mk1 engine. I used to be able to see flow in the header tank.

I read somewhere about running it for 10 mins to get the fan to cut in but I didn't want to run if for 10 mins if I have air in the system!

Coolant temp gauge working?

I usually fill the system up, run it for 5-10mins and keep an eye on the gauge. Turn it off, then take the bleed screw out, when water starts coming out I put it back in and top the header tank up to suit. I then run it for 10min+ until the thermostat opens and you feel the whole radiator is hot, the fan will cut in and the coolant temp gauge will sit at the same level happily...

Ive always done it like that with the 172 engine and its been fine...

We take out the bleed screw, fill the header tank till coolant flows without air in it. Then run the engine till thermostat opens (top hose gets hot)

Stop, check level, squeeze top hose incase more air trapped fit cap and then run till fan cuts in and out

I assume it is, I followed your wiring guide so it should be! lol

Ok I will give the suggestions a try tomorrow after I get my exhaust fitted!

Cheers

edit: Just thought, My pipes may need trimming for them to sit properly and allow proper flow/air escape.
