HD Projectors

Just set one up in the small meeting room at work as we're thinking of getting one. The one we've tried is a 720p one, but we'll obviously get a 1080p one for PS3 stuff and watching movies.

OMG, it's amazing, it's just like being at the cinema.

Check out the size.

Looks like I need to make sure I buy a house with a large blank wall in the new year. lol

lol nice what are the price ranging on these things?

p.s i want your job

That one goes for just under a grand now.

I'm I.T. Support weeman, I'm just lucky it's not for a bank or somewhere boring. I'm really busy at the moment, have been for a few months, but I can always make time for toys.

You can not beat projectors for a proper cinema / gaming experience. 110" screen in a pitch black room with decent sound is where its at - makes most plasma/lcd TV's look so weedy.

Will definitely be getting myself the new panasonic ae1000 1080p when its out. Hoping I can find it for £2k.

Yep, I can vouch for projectors, had my Sanyo Z3 for nearly 2 years now (720p). Unbeatable for home cinema and looks so good with HD content. I've just been watching some Planet Earth in HD and it was awesome. The bigger screen size really brings out the difference between DVD and HD content, it makes DVD look like VHS.

You can get good 720p projectors now for cheap, the Z4 is now well under £1000. It shouldn't be too long before the 1080p stuff becomes affordable, but right now it's a bit pricey.

I've posted this a couple times before, but here is T3 in HD on the Z3 :rasp:

The warez have arrived. We won't get it setup until after Christmas now though as we need to mount the screen and speakers properly.

I wonder if they would mind if I moved into the office!!

I meant the WMV-HD T2 demo freely available to download from Microsoft. I wasn't on about a physical dvd.

yes i know you were but it doesnt have the wmv hd logo in the bottom corner so i dont think it is the demo its been a while since i have watched it tho

1080p and 720p on anything below 120" is fairly pointless imo but thats another discussion better to have it than not but at the moment the panny ae100 is an exellent LCD 720p model at around £950 wheres as most 1080p`s are £2500 upward (for now)

That's total rubbish - the difference between 720p and 480p is as clear as night & day even on a 32" LCD let alone the 110" screen I have in the living room. Maybe the 720p --> 1080p difference is much harder to see.

The current 720p projector is the ax100, not the ae100....and well worth the money.

There was no point us paying out for a 1080p projector as all we'll run on it are Xbox 360 and PS3 games, none of which will be 1080p.
