I am refering to sealers such as; Red Hermatite. - not sure about the spelling.

i used the RED gasket stuff on my exhaust but personally wouldnt use it on the head as if u miss a bit of it doesnt set ull av to take the head off again etc

jus use a normal or uprated gasket

There no need to use any sealer at all.

do you need to use sealer on the rocker cover as well as a gasget as they are prone to leaking?

you need to seal the cam carrier section though.you will see which bit i mean when you strip it down.
