how do i know if its going ? like what are the signs, ?

and where can i get a kit from if it is, and also while im doing that i might aswel get cam sorted out, so:

1) the signs of a headgasket
2) parts for it
3) parts for cambelt and all that . ..

loss of water, or as guysy said mayo in oil cap i would try a compression check

yeah am cleanin that gunk stuff out ona regular basis, like every day, not only that but the pipe from the air filter has some of that in too ...

and fred i ask because im just short of being stupid with cars :p

a mate of mine said take it for a compression, so i'll see bout sortin that out next wk.

she dont seem to be losing water tho, or atleast not that ive noticed

so in the eventuality of it being the gasket i need to work out what i need parts wise and where from ? also, i was told to ask somthing about some bolts will they need replacing,

my mate was on about them n tbh i didnt have a clue what he was saying to me

if its running fine, not over heating or losing fluids why worry?

yeah, but its not running fine tho is it, its running a sack idling way to high, then the revs drop to roughly nothing when im wating at lights, i have to really give her some to keep her drop diein , same with most junctions.

If your not confident with cars doing a head gasket is way out your league. Youll need to get the timing re-done and head skimmed.

Open the expansion bottle and get somebody to rev the car, you may be able to see bubbles and sometimes some signs of oil in the coolant.

just had mine done, mayo in the filler cap bubbles in the water etc, but mine was loss of water due to the water pump being fooked.

i know a guy who'll do it for me its not a problem - but i wanna make sure it is before - - well im hoping tomorrow that i can take it to have that compression test, and maybe for a diagnostic ?

n then if i can figure out what bits i need ( hopefully someone will tell me - reg is above ;) ) i was thinking of getting the cam at the same time, so if one of you kind hearted souls would give me a rough price for bits and what bits i need then i can go about getting them :)

If the engine has high mileage a would look into getting a new engine with low miles on. Could work out cheaper in the long run. I found after getting my head gasket done the car never ran the same.
