Headlight washer problem.

I have a 04 plate clio 182 and was wondering if anybody could tell me when the headlight washers are meant to work. Are they meant to spray when i spray my windscreen washers?? mine just seem to leak onto the front bumper and empty my screenwash tank. Any ideas cheers Michael.

Classic "common problem." They're £12 (each) brand new from Renault. Bumper off, disconnect washer pipe, undo retaining nut, new washer, connect pipe, done.

TBH it's been a while since I had my 182 so might be wrong but I have a vague recollection that they only come on when you've got the xenons on AND use the windscreen washers? As I said, not sure on the last bit.
